Write for us
We welcome clear, original proposals about open-format sport and informal games: how formats work, how groups share play, and which small agreements make a match easier to follow.
What makes a good pitch
Start with one specific question and the reader who needs an answer. Explain the central point, the useful distinction or action the piece will offer, and why it suits Open Match Review. A focused comparison, an explanation of a format or a carefully bounded account of a common playing convention can work well.
Keep the scope sound
Proposals should be evergreen and useful without invented evidence, unverified claims or first-hand testing. Make clear when a practice varies by game or group. We are not looking for instructions that depend on local rules, hazardous work or professional advice.
Send a proposal
Use the Contact page to send your idea, a brief outline and any relevant experience you choose to share. A proposal is not a promise of publication; do not send confidential material or work you do not have the right to submit.
An open match still needs a clear frame
A few shared agreements can make changing teams and formats easier to follow. We look at what to settle before play, and what can stay flexible.
